The Crisis Facing Minnesota’s Veterans

Every night, more than 170 veterans in Minnesota face homelessness, struggling to find the safety, stability, and dignity they deserve after their service.
The causes are complex — including economic hardship, physical and mental health challenges, and a lack of affordable housing — but the solution begins with a home.
Veteran Village was born from the belief that every veteran deserves a secure place to call home.

Introducing Veteran Village

Veteran Village represents a groundbreaking step in our mission to end veteran homelessness across Minnesota.
This first-of-its-kind community will feature 22 units of supportive housing that will house up to 36 veterans and their families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Veteran Village is a transformative partnership between the Housing First Minnesota Foundation; Presenting Build Partner, Lennar; the Lennar Foundation; and the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).

Together, we’re not just building homes — we’re building a stronger, more compassionate Minnesota for those who have sacrificed for our freedoms.

In 2024 and 2025, our community came together in a powerful way — fundraising to kickstart construction on Veteran Village, fueled by TWO generous $500,000 matching grants from the Lennar Foundation. Plus, hundreds of in-kind donations from industry members to help offset project costs. As we kickoff the first stages of construction, we look ahead to the next milestone: bringing Veteran Village fully to life in Fall 2025. With every gift, you help transform a dream into a home for those who served.
